Over the past year, the Ada County Library in Boise, Idaho, has been hit with more than 10 incidents of strange but serious vandalism. And each time, the vandalism has involved CONDIMENTS.
One time it was a book that was filled with ketchup, and another time, a bunch of kids’ books were drenched in corn syrup. And other times, random condiments were dumped in their after-hours drop box.
All in all, the vandalism caused a total of about $1,000 in damages.
Well . . . on Sunday morning, the condiment vandal finally slipped up. A police officer saw someone pull up to the drop box and dump a jar of mayo inside.
So he stopped the car and found out the master criminal was . . . a 74-year-old woman named Joy Cassidy.
She was arrested and charged with malicious injury to property, which is a misdemeanor. Joy hasn’t been charged for all the other vandalism yet, but the police believe she’s behind it.

how very odd. I wonder if she has an axe to grind with books, or if this is just another incidence of random mischief commited by a senile delinquent. (as opposed to a juvenile delinquent.) (sorry, there was supposed to be an element of humor in my comment, but it doesn't come across very well in print.)
